With hundreds of events competing for attention every month, here is what actually gets an event covered in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas hosts more conventions, festivals, and concerts in a given month than most cities see in a year. Getting media attention for an event here requires more than a listing on a calendar.
Start outreach 8 to 12 weeks out
Local assignment editors plan coverage well in advance. Reaching out too close to the event date means competing against dozens of other pitches for the same limited coverage slots.
Give media a reason beyond the event itself
A unique angle, an exclusive interview, a first look, or a tie to a broader trend gives a reporter something to say yes to beyond simply promoting your event for free.
- Build your media list and pitch angle 8 to 12 weeks out
- Offer an exclusive or first-look opportunity where possible
- Coordinate on-site press check-in and access ahead of time
- Have a recap and follow-up media plan ready for after the event
